How a simple is usually structured

Sometimes you just need a clean starting point. This simple org chart template has one leader, three managers and a couple of people under each, with job titles as placeholders. Rename the boxes, delete what you don’t need and add the rest.

Start from roles, then add names

Fill in job titles first so the structure is right, then type names. Leave a name blank or write “Vacant” for roles you are still hiring.

When to switch to a horizontal layout

If you have more than about eight people on one level, switch the chart maker to left-right layout. A horizontal org chart fits wide teams on a portrait page better.
